問題Put the following events into the order in which they happened.
次のイベントを発生順に並べなさい

第三段落にこうあります。

She thanked me when I donated some money.
私がお金を寄付したとき、彼女は私に感謝しました。

これは選択肢2 の「Sarah donated money to the centre. / Sarah はセンターにお金を寄付しました」です。

本文の続きはこうなっています。

She told me that they had asked the town mayor for financial assistance, but their request had been rejected.
彼女は町長に財政援助を求めたが、彼らの要求は拒否されたと私に言った

これは選択肢4 の「The campaigners asked the mayor for help. / 運動家たちは市長に助けを求めた」です。

ここで注意が必要です。本文に出てきた順序は「2」→「4」ですが、実際に出来事が起こった順序は「4」→「2」です。こういうひっかけがありますので、時系列に並べる系の問題には気をつけましょう。

本文第四段落の最初にこうあります。

Last month, I attended a lecture on art at the centre.
先月、センターでアートの講義に参加しました

これは選択肢1 の「Sarah attended a centre event. / サラはセンターのイベントに参加しました」です。

第四段落の最後にこうあります。

Then, the idea came to me that other students might be willing to help. Katy was delighted to hear this.
それから、他の学生が喜んで手伝ってくれるかもしれないという考えが浮かびました。Katy はこれを聞いて喜んだ

これは選択肢3の「Sarah made a suggestion to Katy. / Sarah は Katy に提案しました」 です。

ということで正解は、「4」→「2」→「1」→「3」の順番です。

few months ago / Last month / Now という時をあらわす語がありますので、それを目安に区切りながら問題にあたるのが良いかと思います。

選択肢は四つだけなので、先に目を通しておき、それを本文から探していくという手順も良いかと思います。
